What it is

The UnFIX Foundation Workshop is a practical, introductory workshop designed to help teams and leaders understand the core principles of UnFIX and apply them to their real work context.

Instead of focusing on frameworks or fixed recipes, the workshop explores principles, systems, and flow, creating a solid foundation for more conscious and adaptive decision-making.

It is an ideal starting point for organizations that feel traditional Agile models no longer address their current challenges.

"The unFIX model is NOT a framework! Offers NO processe! Is NOT for IT only! Is NOT top-down! Is NOT a replacement!"

The unFIX model is a pattern library that provides many options for describing an organization design, ways of working within a team, decision-making, goal-setting, and more!

Why it matters

Many organizations adopted Agile practices, yet remain constrained by:

  • Rigid processes
  • Heavy structures
  • Centralized decision-making
  • Limited focus on actual work and flow

The UnFIX Foundation Workshop creates clarity before change.
It helps organizations understand what truly needs to evolve  and what does not.

Who it is for

This workshop is suitable for:

  • Teams experiencing friction between processes and real work
  • Leaders seeking greater autonomy and distributed responsibility
  • Organizations preparing to scale Agile or start a broader transformation
  • Change agents looking to align people, structure, and flow

No prior knowledge of UnFIX is required.

What you will explore

During the workshop, participants work on:

  • Core UnFIX principles
  • Flow of work and value creation
  • Decision-making in complex systems
  • Autonomy, alignment, and accountability
  • Limits and side effects of traditional frameworks

All sessions are based on hands-on exercises, guided discussions, and reflection grounded in the organization’s context.

What is the difference from UnFIX and Management 3.0?

Both Management 3.0 and unFIX focus on improving how organisations work, but they operate at different levels and answer different questions.

  • Management 3.0 focuses primarily on the individual and team level.
It provides principles, practices, and tools to improve motivation, leadership, collaboration, and engagement in day-to-day work.
  • unFIX focuses mainly on the organisational level.
It offers patterns and structures to design how teams are organised, how decisions are made, and how the organisation adapts at scale.

In short:

  • Management 3.0 helps people and teams work better within a system.
  • unFIX helps design and evolve the system itself.

They are complementary, not competing: Management 3.0 strengthens leadership and behaviour, while unFIX provides the organisational structure that supports them.

What teams take away

  • A shared foundation and common language
  • Clear ways to talk about work, flow, and decisions
  • Systemic awareness of real constraints
  • Concrete first steps to apply UnFIX principles
  • Less dependence on rigid models, more adaptive capacity

Format

  • On-site or remote workshop
  • Typical duration: 16 hours
  • Adapted to the organization’s context and maturity
